The United States team won the competition by a score of 18½ to 9½ points. To date, it remains the largest margin of defeat for a European team (since 1979) at the Ryder Cup.

The company was granted a Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen in 1971 as Manufacturers of Sportswear

1974 the brand was acquired by Colgate & Palmolive to the Colgate Sports Group.  MK together with  Penfold, Ram, KNOX/PGF and other golfbrands made Colgate Sports Group to became the world biggest golfsponsor.
